Review

The only thing that saves this book from being the worst I've ever read is:

1: I've read hundreds of books.
2: One of them was Armor.

From the opening of the book with its oh so dramatic stroke scene, I knew this piece of, what god knows shouldn't be called, literature was going to be crap. I love characters. I love them with a passion, and to see characters that could maybe be interesting so dreadfully abused by their creator distresses me. Thom (TOM?), is a morbid idiot who refers to his deceased mother by her first name. Okay, as a daughter of a beloved and now deceased parent, I do not refer to that parent by FIRST name as I have never been on a first name basis with either of my parents. Not only is this strange its unbelievable. I also love sex, and sex scenes in books which I find more titalating than movies or pictures. But what's written here is porn. Not the good kind either. No matter that the writter goes back and makes sure that WE readers know that the girl, getting her jollies on in the forest is not a prepubescent it does leave a notably disgusting taste in ones mouth as well as the overwhelming desire to go to confession. I know that there are a monumental amount of fabulous authors to have come out England, Mary Shelly, J.K Rowling and Jane Austen but James Herbert should perhaps consider staying his hand from the key board for a while. He may be England's 'King of Horror' (sorry, Mr. King) but he's America's King of Horrible.
